Making Things Fit

Making things fit. Recently I was in my kitchen loading my dishwasher, and it occurred to me that the large items really do need to be placed in first, in order to get the most in the machine. I am a pro at getting the most in any one load. But I observed, in order to get a particularly large load to fit, you need to be sure the bigger things go in first. This reminded me of an important life lesson I have to keep learning - we have to put the most important things (the biggest things) into our lives first, or everything just won't fit. In my own life, if I don't plan to put the most important pieces into my daily life first, I am almost guaranteed there will not be room for everything. But when I prioritize the most important parts ahead of the other "stuff", somehow it all falls into place. So you might want to check in with yourself and ask..... What areas of life are the most important to you? (What do you consider your top priorities?) Does your use of your time, money and energy reflect these priorities? If so, congratulations! That is a terrific accomplishment. | If not, what kind of changes do you need to make to align your efforts with your top priorities? Now, what is one small step you can take this week to begin (or continue) this alignment process? My own priorities... So I am still living in Nevada and loving it. I made it through my first winter here. But the really big news is....in January, John popped the question. We are getting married on May 23rd. So as you can imagine my priorities have been shifting considerably over the last few months. When you hear from me the next time, I will be Louisa Tremann - hard to believe - but very exciting!
The key is not to prioritize what is on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities. Stephen R. Covey.
